Moving forward, many Github projects will be changing their default branch name from master to main. We should have scripting in place to assist with this. The script should:

• Be able to change the name of the default branch
• If possible, optionally rename default branch rather than change it
• Given branch a->b, if branch b doesn't exist, create it based on a.

We'll want to do this on a large scale, so the ability to have the script automatically make changes to all repos in an org would be excellent. Not sure if this is possible, but if so, that's the best case. If this is added, we'll still want the ability to do individual repos as well.
